Intern
International Symposium organized by the Students of the Graduate School of Life Sciences

    Welcome Adress

Each year a highly dedicated group of graduate students from the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) host the International Doctoral Researchers Symposium that highlights the diversity and depth of the intellectual approaches within the GSLS. This year the 9th symposium takes place. It was named EUREKA and refers to the EUREKA effect, which describes the experience of suddenly understanding a previously incomprehensible problem or concept. This name very elegantly reflects the purpose of this meeting and the graduate school, i.e. vastly different research topics but all with the unified goal to move science forward and to communicate it to others. The symposium is very unique in its character since it offers the very rare possibility to look beyond the research field of the individual and to be part of the entire GSLS.

The symposium features a mix of talks by highly renowned scientists from all over the world and student talks and poster presentations with the goal to cover topics from all the sections within the GSLS and thus from the areas of Biomedicine, Infection and Immunity, Neuroscience, Integrative Biology and Clinical Sciences. This is the ideal platform to encourage students to present their research and to facilitate an interdisciplinary discussion with the invited speakers and among themselves.

Don’t miss this unique opportunity! We hope to see you on October 14th and 15th at the symposium and we are very much looking forward to two days of exciting presentations.
